The Edinburgh Enlightenment Network is committed to promoting the values of the Enlightenment.

The Edinburgh Enlightenment Network was set up in 2022 by James Christie as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.

Politically unaffiliated, Edinlight aims to promote, defend and secure our freedoms of speech, expression, thought and conscience, and to support and bring together those who share these values.

Edinlight Essay Prize

The Edinlight Essay Prize – a project of the Edinburgh Enlightement Network – aims to encourage students to develop skills in critical thinking, clear reasoning and understanding competing viewpoints in a debate.

The competition has been organised by James Christie and Kapil Summan.
